  • Camry / Echo Swap Advice

Players - 1996 Toyota Camry Coupe Auto V6 165,000 / Needs new rack & pinion, power steering pump, major tune up. Probably $1000-$1500 in repairs.

    2002 Toyota Echo Coupe 5spd A/C, 80,000 miles $5000.00 at local dealer.
    38/42 mpg. Looks very clean.

Can't do a Festiva (doesn't take care of his car, goes to college in a very isolated place).

Pull the trigger on a trade?

Echo is a good car. Would not pay their price though.

trade, but bring the asking price on the echo down first. then steam clean the engine bay before trading in the camry. also look up the TSBs on the echo before buying it, there are a number of them for that car.

once/if you buy it, LOWER IT!!! those things sit super high from the factory and lots of air gets under the body at highway speeds.
