  • motor to tranny

Hi, Was just wondering what everyone uses for trannys on a b6 swap.. Reason for question was looking on craigslist and found a 91 capri with 68,000 miles on it with a bad tranny was wondering if you could just use Festiva tranny or would it be best to find another capri tranny?

It'll bolt to the motor. That's it. I'm guessing its a non turbo car? I have a trans for one of those.

A festy tranny wouldn't last long. Not only is there more power, bit way more weight putting strain on it. Not to mention the pathetic clutch.

^nah! run the E series in the capri, but you'll need custom mounts to do it. the trans will handle the power and extra weight provided you don't beat on it and you'll have a taller 5th gear for better highway milage to boot.

As long as you don't try to smoke the tires in every gear, the stock Festy transmission will hold up fine. It's the guys that put bigger engines in and then think they have a fully blown dragster that have problems.
              You gonna race that thing?

If its a non-turbo, you'll have no issues using a stock tranny on it
