  • Well, this is interesting....

A few weeks ago, I called a guy about a Festiva he had for sale. He said he still had it, and he would hold it for me until the following evening. Got out there the following evening, and the car had been sold. I'm okay with that, as I didn't give him any cash to hold it. A couple of days later, the car shows up in the parking lot at work. One of the guys I work with had bought the car.

Today he comes to me and asks me if I want to buy it. It's an 89, four speed carby. I know it needs a motor mount replaced, and, shocker, it leaks a bit of oil. Body's in good shape with surprisingly little rust for a WV car. May have to jump on it. Decisions, decisions.

    Thoughts?

Batstiva, thanks so much for the tip about the fusible links being wet causing the charge light to come on. It dried out yesterday and the light is gone. You saved me $100!

^^ No problemo! Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then.

That comment is directed at me, not you.

Sorry, I had to. I say jump on it, if you want it and have the cash. I've never passed up on a festiva when I could afford it.
                No festiva for me ATM...

How much did the original owner want for it and how much does your buddy want for it ? Does your buddy know you know about the car being on CL ?

Why did he buy it then turn right around and want it sold?

Huh? He's offering it to me for the same price that he paid for it. In answer to someone else's question, he's not really a Festiva guy, he's a Honda guy, but he bought the car because he needed a beater. He has since found a beater Honda that he wants to buy, hence the desire to sell the Festy. Should be taking ownership of the car early next week. Woot!!
