Yep thats one of those micro mini Japanese pickups. That back window would definitely work. Gotta be some these wrecked with people trying to use them like off road ATVs.
Here is a 1948 IHC pickup. Course even if you found one to cut up, the glass isnt going to be any good and there arent going to be reproduction glass easily available, probably custom job.
I went to the local junk yard today to see if they might have anything that would work. I call it a junk yard but really he just crushes everything he get in, but will sell parts if he is there and is not busy. I didnt find anything. I will take the older pickup idea and when i get to a real wrecking yard (over 100 miles away) I will take a look. But he did tell me he knew where two other festys are for 100.00 one runs bad clutch and one is parts car. He is supose to get me the number tomorrow. So today wasnt all bad. So i just went home and took my da to the rambler to get it ready for body work and soon paint. Thanks for the ideas.
my truckiva has the back wall from a chevy luv cab welded in. that way if i want later i can put a rear slider in.
Well there you go, if that is narrow enough with stock size glass, then should be easy to find. People liked the 4wd version of them so still occasionally see one. I was too tall to be comfortable in one. But somehow I fit in a '72 Ford Courier just fine. Called it my Japanese coffin. And of course I fit in a Festiva....
Hmm, well another possibility, if LUV rear window fits, for sure an early Courier window should.
I always wanted to see a two door coupe festy built with a trunk and a cabin styled loosely after a Nissan Pulsar. I mocked one up one time on my old blue car, using the hatch exactly like they did, and believe it or not a spare hood fits almost perfectly as a deck lid for the trunk! I don't remember if I got pics or not, but probably not. Still might do something like that someday if I find one with roof damage (I've been staking out FestYboy's house with a chainsaw but he never parks close enough to the trees anymore :razz
Edit: just noticed that they apparently kept the side-poppability of the tiny quarter windows lol
They even used the boot/rear for the back window is what i thort was funny.. its half a dodge sumthing.. it does look horrible xD
Park closer to tree's FestYboy..we wanna see more cab back festy utes.. xD
I know it was a lot of hard work, but that looks horrible IMO.disgust
Yep, its ugly. Looks kinda like a utility trailer rear ended a Festy and they got mashed together. And I frankly dont see the point. Why not just restore the '66 Datsun pickup that donated the bed?
Ok well I still dont see the point but I can understand it if the vehicle is damaged beyond repair. And I have thought it would be cool to maybe make a coupe or slope the back more.
