MB 190E?

    On the older diesels (240's , 300's) the vacuum pump situation can be a bear.
    Everything on those is run off the vacuum pump (door locks, start up, you name it). Makes the stuff around the Festiva carb look sensible.
    MB didn't import the 300 turbodiesels in a stick. Have to go with a 240 (non turbo). Same body style. You'll need the stick with the 240's.Those are slower than a piggyback ride on a hobo

      i had a 190 it was great bought it for 800 bucs an all it needed was a recharge on the AC drove it for 5 years with out 1 problem then i loaned it to a friend while i was out of town and he drove it to work an that night it flooded at his work ( trucking yard ) an my poor MB couldnt swim it drowned in 8 feet of water i loved that car an i am currently looking at a late 80's turbo diesel a buddy has for a grand and like my last one all it needs is the AC charged

        i base my opinion on 5+ years as a line tech at mercedes benz of sacramento and my mercedes benz master systems technician certification

          I agree with the 190e being a poor mans benz. I had a 300e and it just would not die. I sold it with 300k because I just wanted a new car.
