  • Nice PnP score today

ICPstiva spotted an 89 323 yesterday at our local PnP. I went up this morning and picked a 1st gen b6 head so twisted can finally get a b6 swap.

Nice! Why not take the whole engine though?

money and time, my usual two pitfalls to a good deal. besides I have a few b6 blocks around with less miles on them.

^^ You have a nice 2nd Gen B6 head coming your way soon

HINT: You may want to find a header for it
If a hammer doesn't fix it you have an electrical problem

Dad and I went to Harry's today. Couple Festivas, but they were all pretty well picked through. Got a couple parts for the WRX out of an Outback... So it was a pretty good trip. Dad got a white power mirror switch for a spare set of mirrors he has down in the basement.

you'll want to plug the front 2 oil return ports in the block i gave you if you want to use that head on it. i used (IIRC) 3/4"-18 NPT plugs that i taped the holes for.

Yea, I remembered that part. However, there is a third port the size of the water ports. I assume it is the egr port. The b6 head does not have one. do i need to plug the one off in my intake?

no, the EGR intake port doesn't do anything at that point. just sits there and looks preaty. you're going to like the B6 swap, and the stock carb will run well up to about 5000 (and higher with good AFR) but after that, you'll choke out... need a 32/36 or bigger and you REALLY want a cam.... but you know this already LOL.

Go ahead and start gasket matching it so it will match the head
