  • what is the.difference between an auto and a manual driver's side axle?

Are they the same length and just the inner stub shaft different?

Could I take the inner shaft on mine and put it on the rest of an auto axle?

auto is bigger in diameter too. More than likely you will not be able to just change the inner CV joint.

Well, my outer boot is gone, found one in the JY that has a brand new axle, so I figured I could cut the band, take off the auto inner, put on my manual inner, then pull the boot back down after new grease and install a new band.
