A guy I used to work with (laid off, still no job) has a 150k '96 Golf VR6 that the head went out on. He was quoted big money to fix it and he decided it wasn't worth it. I paid $350 for it as a parts car (didn't run) and all it took was a 10mm bolt in the cam retainer to get it to run. I had other things I had to do to it as well, sold it to him for $600. He told me once he gets back onto his feet and gets something else, he'll just give it back to me :eeeeeek: which would be sweet!!! We'll see.

He figures he couldn't rent something for months for cheaper. I hear they're talking about bringing him back once work picks up. I hear we are going to be in a hurt soon, but I haven't seen it yet.
I told him I had room for the Golf and would part it out for him for half the proceeds, he agreed to that. I need to see if Golf bumpers work on Festivas.....
