  • Coming soon....camlock!

I've been working on timing tool kits for the DOHC motors... Here's my latest:

It fits the B6 DOHC and the BP, maybe some others? It makes timing belt/service much easier by locking the camshafts together. Rotate to TDC, insert camlock, R&R t-belt. No messing around with wrenches and struggling to get everything lined up

Also have a Large-nose version of the crank snout tools available (top one)

Nice work! Makes that look like it'll be a breeze to do a new belt.

^^ Lol, I'm partial to the Miata.net garage method of using two wrenches one on each of the hexes on the cams, then locking them in place with a pair of vice grips... mainly because, well, it looks cool! Lol

But rocketman's piece looks pretty sweet too! Might pick up a pair of those crank snout tools one of these days, when I'm not constantly spending everything I have on parts. I have two BNCs and two SNCs so it would have to be a pair lol.
        No festiva for me ATM...

But that requires pulling the valvecover off! (another gasket!)

Let me know when you want the crank tools - I'll make a deal for anyone wanting to buy both types. PM me.

            Thanks guys!

But... I'm a Miata guy, I have to pull the VC anyway, our top half of the top timing cover is part of the VC

How much for these tools, I wish I had them three months ago, stupid gears kept moving 1/8 or 1/4 inch. Had to get the wife to hold the sprocket with a 14mm wrench while I put the belts on.

If I go BP once I finish the body, I'm in for both tools for sure. They'll save me quite the headache.

This. They always seem to "spring" out of position.
