    Electric Fuel Pump

…. Question: On the pressure side ONLY, when the fuel is delivered from the tank to the fuel rail on the engine is there a CHECK VALVE in the fuel pump to keep the fuel from backing up (for whatever reason) and going back into the Tank? I am NOT, in any way, talking about the return line from the fuel rail.

Yes. If you don't hold some pressure in the line for a while, it is more than likely defective. The pump should still work fine, just cause long crank to rebuild full pressure.

…. Thanks, took the HIGH PRESSURE hose off a defective Fuel Pump in the tank and was going to pour some SeaFoam directly in to the Pump. All was going well until I noticed some drops of fuel when I took the hose off the tank fitting. I thought it odd since the pump hadn't been working. Then it hit me, there must be a check valve to keep the pressure up in the line and also keep the fuel from returning to the tank.

      Thanks again
