  • Wondering if "darkdan" is still around?

I've just noticed this product being touted, and wonder if anyone has experience of the stuff?

went over like a poorly lead zepplin full of toothpaste

            Hi Festivatists,

            this may work better? [https://teela.goxft.com/cgi-bin/in1....=7&language=1]

Yes, Xtreme fuel treatment. The website seems flakey enough, selling a couple other products with no way to tell what they are supposed to do. The claims for the fuel treatment seem incredible.

I've been in Festiva hell since moving here to Bellingham February of '08. In Eureka I had an attached garage in an apartment of similar size, in an otherwise single family dwelling neighborhood, and could work on my car either in the garage or next to the sidewalk any time I felt like. Petite bourgeoisie of the underclass.

Here I'm in the town's apartment ghetto, a ninety unit place and the neighbors upstairs also employees who'd of made me a little more comfortable working on the car in front of my front door in my parking space, moved to the building behind the one I'm in now. Otherwise loaded with people I'm not comfortable being around including one stalker an old guy my age a chain smoker living above me I'm sure would be gawking all the time trying to start conversations if I got serious under the hood. I haven't made any real friends the four years I've been here, so seem to lack that confidence a supportive social life could give; just to brazen things out for my own good.

The car runs great, and I've frequently been into Seattle mostly for musical oriented stuff; though moving here from Eureka and/or switching from Mobile One to NAPA's synthetic, seems to've started the seals on the crank and cam leaking. With 75,000 miles on the timing belt I installed in Eureka folks can guess what I'm thinking of doing next. Plus, I still haven't gotten around to finishing the Aspire brake swap I'm half way through, with the back end done and all the parts pulled off a '97 still left over, stashed inside the car here and there I got tired of tripping over inside the apartment.

Life isn't all bad. I'd sort of become a madman in Facebook, then added as a friend a published novelist, music journalist and jazz musician Rafi Zabor; who has been encouraging me a little about my writing. Check out his book THE BEAR COMES HOME which won the PEN/Faulkner book award one year; about a Russian circus bear cub won in a poker game who grows up living with an African American jazz buff. As he matures the bear reveals he has superpowers, a high IQ who can talk and learns to play alto saxophone like a combination of Charlie Parker, John Coltrane and Ornette Coleman. The bear does all the things I tried to do and failed at, of course. He even gets the girl.

Rafi is working on a new book he hustled donations to be able to work on; and so after coughing up $10 I took advantage of him, suggesting a sequel to the bear book might be a better idea since the novel he published after that didn't do well. The reason he has to beg now. "Beats getting slain and eaten!" was a line I suggested, regarding bestiality. He puts up with me, which is fun. Rafi is sixty-five and was reduced to proof-reading for magazines to support himself; who may've read some of my things here I've linked him to.

I found the link about the oil treatment, since a new Facebook "friend" Seattle Improvised Music "likes" MERCEDES MAYBACH, where the oil treatment was touted. I made a real funky post good for the arena here, on their page. LOL My next car, right?

I'm nearly though the second week of suffering a cold, my first in five years; and thought of you guys, feeling lonely and needing something old and familiar I guess?

Always dreaming of a woman friend in San Francisco too. I even have the Tony Bennett album! Now that is bad, no?

We got to know each other in Humboldt county in '04, '05 & '06, both a little too radical there. I think the powers that be, designed to force us apart jealous of our excellent chemistry together and flippant d-i-s-g-u-s-t with even leftist convention; who is a quarter century my junior. Oh well. Next I'll start buying Frisco jeans. Hey, good idea. Thanks for the many strokes, folks.

              superbobstad Festiva fantasy!

This was I could pull the engine and tranny late one night an hour or two after the bars close, and sneak the whole mess inside my apartment leaving the front rims and tires with bolts to look like nothing had happened.

Things broke down trying to figure out how to improvise a hoist from scrap wood and a wooden futon frame someone gave me near Ukiah, CA when I thought we might fall in love. These modern women, making the guy carry the mattress on his back! Nothing beats the sporting life.

Just messaged "darkdan" with a query about the Xtreme fuel additive and a link to this thread asking him to make a comment if he liked.

More than a little off-topic now, though trying to keep the general technical interest not too obscured.

with me, any amount of attention; and that soda pop bottle turned out to be full of nitroglycerine, you thought you'd give a little shake or two.

I got some excellent advice from Dan in private messages, worrying about the STILKO toilet paper oil filter I use.

Just thinking, there is a website where I could probably answer my own question about Xtreme fuel additive, though I get so locked into the computer writing I feel like taking a break for bicycle ride while the sun is warm now. [http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums....php?ubb=cfrm]

These people are as fanatical as Dan is brilliant; though having discovered the sight before bought by a petroleum industry giant, I'm a little wary of wading there. I was always astounded at how many people will weigh in on any given subject as well as the number of posts they sometimes have made as members of that site.

Search & Destroy? I'm shocked & awed, and that ain't good.

Well, I got this far looking at BOBISTHEOILGUY [http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums...ard=37&page=1]

This website once had a great "search" function; but, if there is still one there now, I sure can't find that.

I used to like to check out "Stilko" by typing in a search every once in a while to see what was happening; and once ran into Burgess Howell who had a yahoo Festiva group he finally dumped me from there. He may be the same guy who is a NASA scientist; but, I'll leave the rest of my opinions for the arena someday, maybe.
