  • Patience Pays Off

I finally talked the widower next door into selling his wife's Festiva. Years of mowing and helping him out around the house have paid off. It's the typical "little old lady who only drove it to church and grocery store" car.
I have had my eye on it since I moved here some 12-13 years ago. It's a 84,000 mile GL auto with air. He kept track of all maintenance including oil changes and even fuel fill-ups.
    Plenty of "opportunities"
Clean and detail, tune-up, driveline and suspension repair, stereo system, fix oil leaks, bigger wheels, tinted windows, straighten body, etc...

Thanks all for the welcome. Been lurking here for awhile, waiting for the car to be mine. I have only driven it from his house to mine and once around the block. Hoping to get some time to clean it up soon. Hopefully insurance and tags next week. I can't wait to drive it.
Gonna need some tires soon. I hear 12 inch tires are hard to get. Any ideas on easily available 13 or 14 rims to get me by?
Will try to figure out how to better post pictures too.

                      155/80-13s are very cheap tires.

I got a set a few weeks ago for $17 each, $120 installed. They seem to have pretty good traction.

Contact a local Firestone (I hear they're all over the country, but who knows. ). The $17 ones I got from there were evidently rebadged Goodyears.

                        Welcome! Your car's pretty!!

Your alloys could use a nice set of 165/70s:

Reifen für PKWs und Transporter extrem günstig. Wir bieten Ihnen Autoreifen äußerst vorteilhaft! Klitzekleine Preise, versandkostenfreie Lieferung schon ab 2 Reifen, günstiger Montageservice für Reifen fast überall in der Schweiz, unkomplizierte Bestellung, flexible Zahlungsabwicklung, sehr große Auswahl

But even the Nankangs are getting pricey.

Get some Metro steelies and consider some 165/70-13s:

Those Kumhos for about $41 each look interesting.

Or, if you don't mind larger tires, some 175/70-13s might suit you. Maybe you could find a deal at a local place for cheaper than the Kumhos above shipped?
