I'm mostly looking at reproduction of exhaust parts, Turbo setups, custom mounts, cable clutch adapters... not stepping on anyone's toes but Max isn't making mounts anymore I think I bought the last set and Chris isn't making cable adapters either once again I bought the last one and someone always wants b3 b6 and BP Turbo manifolds I just want to help out on the forum. I'm not much of a mechanic and struggled through my BP swap even with Matt carrying me through it so I can't give good advice about mechanical stuff to others so I want to help in other ways maybe this will be it plusses there have been more times than I can count that I have needed a welder in the last 2 years

But if you keep your eyes out for a used welder you could find one way better than harbor freight for close to your budget.
I got this Lincoln SP-135 w/tank and gloves for $300.00 on craigslist a few years ago.
The cart was my first welding project to get used to the settings.

^ I use a little Lincoln like that at home, that's your best bet, I've seen people get really good deals on some really good equipment at estate sales and business auctions. I use a Linde 305 (tig ) every day, but I've got 3 Lincoln 250 amp migs, a Lincoln 350 (spool gun), and a Miller syncrowave 350 ( tig). My favorite at home/ hobby welder has been the Thermodyne thermal arc 200 inverter tig, an awesome little rig. I wouldn't purchase anything without a gas shield, you will waste money and time and materials.Last edited by Advancedynamix; 11-30-2011, 04:25 PM.Driving for me is neither a right nor a privilege. Lincoln SP 170 T
I bought my Lincoln @ 20 years ago new. The only problem I had was last month.I turned it on and the cooling fan wouldnt come on. I pulled the cover off & found a Mouse nest up against the fan! My kid was like whats wrong? Cuz he heard me cus. I started pulling the nest out and Momma Mouse was try to do an EVAC ! We tried to do a peaceful relocation for the nest. No dice,the stupid things tried to come back the next day! Needless to say the mouse lost ALL Barn privileges after that.
My criteria for a Welder was simple. Had to be Mig. It had to be a Miller or Lincoln.(Parts/Repair availability) And had to have enough amps to weld on 3/8's thick if needed. If you get the entry level welders that require 220v power source. You are getting a good all around welder that wont ever let you down. Jus my two centsSome people like to read fiction,I prefer to read repair manuals. Weird I know-

I used to have a cheap 120 volt gas/gasless welder. It worked OK for the price. But as was stated before, once you use a good MIG with gas you'll wish you had one.
The advantage the lil' cheapy 120 volt unit had is it was very portable and ran on regular household current. That became handy when I had to fix a cheap metal framed futon. I welded it in the living room after putting down protection for the carpet.
I purchased one of these a few years ago;
Geez, what a difference!

I have a Clark Turbo 110E. Had it for a lot of years. Is gasless, with the gas regulater to hook up gas. Just never got a bottle to hook up. It was made in Italy, with a 10 year warranty. It's pretty good. Looks like a blue Lincoln.
I need some new tips for it at the moment.Dan

Found this one for all you floridians. It's a steal at a dollar an amp, Lincoln and AC/DC. Just need a crane to lift it into your truck , LOL. I'd buy it if it were close to me.
OOPS, forgot to put the link! Haha

Maybe it will be great or maybe it will be like drinking too much. You enjoyed it while it lasted but regret it later in the morning

Be aware that that particular model is 230V. The average home doesn't have that wired into the garage1991 Mercury Capri XR2 "GTXR2" BPT Swapped AWD Conversion

LOL, no, those won't work at all.
You either need a correct 230V outlet wired in, or stick to a 110V welder. Welders suck down an awful lot of power.1991 Mercury Capri XR2 "GTXR2" BPT Swapped AWD Conversion
