All the companys who have chipped ECU's have used a sticker on the ECU cover, and sometimes on the chip itself - EL Prototypes, Corksport, Reich Racing, Rocketman, etc.

I'm not sure what yours would be, it's either a self-install (like a diy el proto chip) or a bootleg of another chip

Pop the cover off and shoot a picture of the ROM

Noone that I know of then. Maybe Road Race Engineering but they had "RRE" all over their stuff.

Is it socketed? I have the equipment & software to read the chip & see whats modified, if you're interested.

Its socketed. I was just wondering. I think I will try it in schreurs1 mercury xr2 and see how it works. It runs good in the 323. No boost gauge, it did have a Wideband but previous owner removed gage-sensor is still there and its a bosch. Car came with a stock Gtx ecu too.

.... If I understand this correctly, With one of my cars (KIA) if I replace the PCM / ECM it will NOT run until I take it to the dealer and they reprogram it or update the E-prom? Is that correct?
