  • dual tranny swap, auto to 5-speed, 5-speed to auto....

I posted in the drivetrain article, but its so far down I don't think it gets seen much. I know ep over in Tulsa went from auto to 5-speed...

I have two running cars that I want to do the swap. I also have a parts car that was a 5-speed. I'm thinking of leaving the pedals in the soon to be auto car, but it looks like I'll need to swap steering columns.

    Anything else?

Wish I could help you but I've never done an auto-manual swap, this post is just a useless post to get me closer to 10k posts

    1988 323 Station Wagon - KLG4 swapped
    1988 323 GT - B6T Powered
2008 Ford Escape - Rollover Survivor

1990 Festiva - First Ever Completed KLZE swap (SOLD)

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

Well, there is something near the key on autos that isn't there on manuals, neutral safety switch maybe?

yeah, but that's a cable issue that can be locked out.

It can actually be completely removed at least I did on my '90. On the '92 I did I just crimped the cable on the shifter end. Pedal swap is much more important than a column swap.
              No festiva for me ATM...
