  • Simple Question re Clutch

Do I have to pull the motor to change the clutch?

If so, its no big deal, I just put a used motor in it last week, so It should be a pretty straightforward job.

You either pull the motor, or the tranny, which ever you prefer

    1988 323 Station Wagon - KLG4 swapped
    1988 323 GT - B6T Powered
2008 Ford Escape - Rollover Survivor

1990 Festiva - First Ever Completed KLZE swap (SOLD)

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

Thanks. I wasnt sure if you had to pull the motor. Seems like it might be easier just to yank it, and do the clutch on the bench.

Pulling the trans is pretty easy too. Whatever trips your trigger...

I like dropping the trans, cause I can do that in 45 minutes to an hour depending on how stuck the bolts are. Should be quicker now with my cordless impact.

I like standing underneath as opposed to bending over the top ..to many surgeries !

On a festiva there isn't much of either, they come out quick.

depends what you have for a shop. i have a hoist with a trans jack so about 30min and ive got the trans on the ground. if you just have an engine hoist you can pull the motor and trans together. either way its pretty easy.

Not even going to lie I had the hardest time changing a tranny on stock festiva. On a stock one I would just pull the whole thing.
