Welcome and don't feel bad about not knowing something. Alot of people forget they just used to be at the same point as you. The BP is the 1.8 DOHC engine that is in the 1991-1996 escort gt.

I agree! Of course, the use of the search function should be encouraged, but a straight forward answer to a very easy question to a noob doesn't hurt a thing.....

Two even easier swaps would be the B6 (easiest) and the B8.
Now do some reading. A lot of reading!
And I recommend you begin by first fixing the little things on your car, freshening it up, making sure it runs the best it can, and check the condition of the ball joints (very important!) and the hard brake lines.
