  • Introduction.

Hi. I am unknown. about 2 weeks ago, after hoping for a few years to land on top of a Festiva, one fell in my lap. Sadly, I probably paid too much for it, but I figured with my truck getting about 15 mpg on a good day, it wouldn't take long to make up for it. It is an '89 L, with the 2 barrel carb. First carbed ride I have owned in a long time. It has some issues, which I will be writing about in another section, but I just wanted to say hi, and hope that through my learning process on this car, I can help others in some small way.

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

Welcome, your car looks like mine did 10 years ago!
              I went from 8mpg towing to 35mpg
              I went from 9mpg to 46mpg traveling
I went from 5mpg to 35mpg in town.
I average 200 miles a week, about 1/3 in town.
This little car has paid off better than my stocks!!
It might be the best 10 year investment I ever made !

I am located in western North Carolina. Right now, I am in the middle of some repairs. But, as soon as the sun goes down, I will be back to type all about it. lol.

This is the thread I have started to discuss all the ups and downs, and what I learn, about this project.

Post your Festiva or Aspire repair and maintenance issues. - USE THIS FORUM FOR ANY TECHNICAL RELATED POST (IE. How do I change my oil?, How to remove axle from tranny?, etc)

Hi, welcome to the board. I haven't been on much and missed this until now. We do have a lot of NC members on here and they are pretty active. I've read through your other thread and you seem to know your way around a car fairly well. Now that you have a manual, you should be able to figure most things out, but there are a lot of knowledgeable folks on here willing to try to help.

Whereabouts in western NC are you located? We have members from Asheville and Hendersonville on here a lot. Are you close to them?
