number 3 is official! and you guys are right again, 4 speed! im so freaking happy it has 2 dime sixed spots of rust, thats awesome for indiana!!!! pics to follow ive got about 240 in her

guess what they called,"needing a cam"........the bolt fell out haha!!!!! so tommorow im gonna find a bolt and fire this bad boy up! carb, starter, and battery looks new so someone took care of it, the stealership said an old lady gave up on it after this "catastrophic failure". i feel bad cause the lady pretty much lost her car for a 50 cent bolt but someone else would have most likely just scrapped it so im glad on the other hand!

Kartracer really is a carby physic, he was correct!!! Now answer me this, why does it have red stitched seats but not door panels?
Good news, the bolt ended up being broken off deep in the cam. So after replacing it with my spare she fired right up!!!! She purred like a well..... Loud sewing machine haha. After the normal fluid fill and idle inspection I took her for a drive I think I might have it off a tooth cause it has like 1/2 the power of the FI b3(maybe I'm just used to the BP???) and the valvetrain makes ALOT of noise, think I need to run the valves? I just threw the new cam in, no adjustments. Overall I'm extremely happy and this was definantely the best 200 bucks I've spent in a while!!!

Because it's an L, it will have the regular plain vinyl door cards. Being a carby the lash adjustment my need set. .012 on the valve and .007 on the cam side and it will quiet up.

Ok thanks kartracer, you mind to tell me your name? I hate calling folks by their screenname! And I set each one with the cam lobe straight up correct?
                        Intake- .012
                        Exhaust-.007
George, I borrowed a festy-specific tow bar setup from Dennis(gauge half inch) to get her home. Its amazing couldn't even feel it behind the good old chevy truck!

                            Yes, it's Jay.

The .012 clearance is at the valve, the .007 is at the cam. You can just guage the valve and the cam should be fine since you replaced it.

Position No.1 piston to at TDC, adjust number 1 and 2 intake and number 1 and 3 exhaust.

Then turn crankshaft one full turn so no.4 is at TDC and set the clearances on the remaining valves.

                            Hope that helped ya out.
