note, the 4 door post ID # on craigslist...Originally posted by bobbyspider View Posti cant beleive i called her a "wide" i showed her when i got home and she cracked up.
i do like all the cars posted but she is into like mk1 rabbits and she would take a mk1 (u.s.) escort. dhe is dead set on a 4 door but i need something i can work on and is cheap for parts. i dont like the early vw set up with the digifont crap and the non crossflow motors, they are just like the omni with the stupid tbi. and i really dont want to deal with carb either because i have 0 experience with it. i just want her to have an auto festiva because i understand the car. there has to be a happy medium somewhere

Chevy/Geo Prizm?
Same as Corolla and just as dependable methinks. 1st Gen (1989 to 1992, IIRC) was kinda boxy and all had four doors. All were sedans except for the first two years had a hatchback option that looks really sweet and sleek.
Oh, and lest we forget...four door Metros?
Karl

I want the red egt so bad, I almost bought one fore like $400 but i knew the guy that tried to work on it and it probably would have taken 2000 to straighten out his mistakes. Wish i would have gotten it now though.

This should be perfect for your wide - A 1986 Escort GT! If you cross your eyes, it has 4 doors.

Ever thought of buying a Toyota Echo? My THIN and I have had 4 of these now, and have never had to do anything other than brakes, tires, and batteries (my thin likes to leave the lights on, lol)
Best of all, they are pretty inexpensive (around here a decent 2000 4dr Echo with medium Mileage goes for $2500-$3200) AND get 36mpg if you get an Auto, and 44mpg if you get a Manual!
Here are a couple pics of our Echos (the last one we only had for 2-3 months before a Nissan Rogue (in one of the pics) decided to run a red light)
