  • Road tar and bugs

What do you guys use to remove road tar and bugs? Bugs are fairly easy.. well hit them with a pressure washer and let them soak for a while, hit them again and start scrubbing. I've never found anything that removes tar easily. I thought about using wd40.. I really don't want anything that would screwup the paint.

I haven't personally used anything that worked too good on road tar. Even all those bug and tar removers sold in sores by the cleaners and wax worked marginally at best for me

On dads stiva I sprayed both pb blaster and wd40 removed a little bit of it. Maybe I ought to leave it on longer?

WD 40 works but you have to work it alittle. I have used it before and it did not damage my paint.

Paint thinner, mineral spirits, naptha, all pretty much the same stuff, it won't hurt any paint. Its close to the solvent in the WD and pb blaster, but it will evaporate and not leave an oily mess.

GUNK brand bug and tar is ok ,but it is mainly made up of naptha ,
^^ like they said it all works ,you just need to work it a little ,it breaks it down ,I have really never seen anything that just disolves it with no agitation.

PB Blaster rocks. I've used it for various siezed parts on my Jeep with great results.

I use a standard Tar & Bug remover and scrub. I hated when that shit got on the Pimptiva because it was always a pain to remove.
