  • Few Questions.

I found myself with time and some money and want to do a BP swap. My questions are how are the list of things Im looking for.

    1. BP motor from Escort GT - Found a couple.
    2. G series Transmission from Capri Xr2 - searching.
    3. Flywheel and clutch from Capri Xr2.
    4. Axles and Intermediate shafts from Capri Xr2.
    5. ECU From Escort GT.
    6. BP and B3 wiring harness.
    7. Looking at Mattswabb BP build.

I know I cant just get everthing right away and will take time. If you have things to add or change please comment! Dont care if you say it in a bad kind of way would prefer someone telling me the right way right away lol! Alright thanks!

While everything is out do everything you can think of maintenance wise. You will thank yourself later. Also clean or paint your engine/bay while everything is out. Again, you will LOVE yourself for doing it.

Your going to need a welder and some type of cutting tool to make the mounts. OR you could buy fastivab6tg25mr bolt in g-series tranny crossmember. It will speed things up tremendously!

    Good luck.

Check the for sale section and look for his post. I think he has a transmission he wanted to sell also.

Not to derail your build, but you could do the BP swap and use the E-series tranny while your still acquiring parts do the G-series swap. Would only need a passenger mount for the BP this way. The build is then staged in both time and money. Additionally, festiva down time is also reduced. True the E-series is weaker than the G, but I've put 60K on mine without issue. But, I don't take it to the track or "drop the hammer" on it from a dead stop either.

Ya was thinking about doing that until I got the trans and mounts needed. Not to worried about festiva down time I have 2 more festivas if I cant drive that one.
