Well after a few years out of the festiva game I finally got another one. I looked from time to time but all the ones I could find were ROUGH. Picked up a '92 5-speed with 130k miles, a little rust in the typical places and a few dents here and there. Only thing it needs is an alternator and a instrument cluster light. Got it for $500. I know probably not deal of the century but thought I made out pretty good being these cars are going to be sought after with the gas prices going up and the speculation of it getting up there again.
The story is I work with a lady who drove it to work all the time and I told her if she ever wanted to sell it to let me know first. Well today she called and said the alternator went out and it wouldnt start back up when she went to leave the gas station and she's tired of messing with it, so I didn't miss a step to go pick it up. I paid her got the keys, charged the battery for a bit to start it and get it home and she drove great! Though it did feel a little sluggish since I had been driving my '03 cobra around all day before I picked it up lol.
Plans are fix alternator, spend a few hours cleaning interior, change fluids, tint windows, and re-paint it.
