  • Hey from DE

hey everyone I'm new here and I am looking at a festiva for a new car since gas is driving me nuts. Can anyone give me any insight to what MPG the festiva gets, how it handles, and how easy repairs are on it? Also, how is legroom, I'm 6'5" and is it a tight fit?

welcome to Ford Festiva Dot Com

i am the repair help moderator and a constant Festiva owner since 1992

i am 6ft 6in and 250lbs and my Festiva fits me like a glove

i have a modified 1990 Festiva LPlus Fuel Injected, Manual Transmission and A/C,

i usually get between 35 city/47 highway MPG with a stock 1.3L engine

basic maintenance is very easy and repairs are easy too if you have some basic mechanical knowledge

Handling is typical of a sub-compact, but here at FF.com, we can give you the advice you need to improve the your car 100%

                  ownership

Ill change the subject. My festiva gets about 38 miles per gal with mixed driving. Buy one, and tune in to this site. Lots of good advice, with exception of previous posts to your topic. I'm a shade tree mechanic and have done 98% of my own repairs. I owned four in the past 15 years and have gotten my $ back several times over. I'm a two thumbs up on festiva ownership!! A festiva can save you about $1000 per 25000 miles over a 25 MPG car. At least ! More if gas prices go up. I think that's a no brainer.

Sorry about getting off topic its mdj fault. Anyways my dad regularly gets 45-50 on his festiva and this last week he got 43 on mine. I normally average 37 when I drive it. Though something may not be right since my aspire got 36 easily the other day. Most repairs can be conducted with duct tape and bailing wire on the side of the road.. their so simple not much goes wrong. My brother-in-law is about the same size and he loved driving the festiva.. he had to lean back from hitting his head but it couldn't do to much more damage. It handles decent if everythings in check.
