  • New priority, AC

    So i just found out i am going to be stationed in the AZ NM area. I need to get an AC into my festiva, and i need to do it quick. I report on 25 May but i am in school until middle of April so i dont have alot of time. During class i was trying to think of all the things i would need to get to make this happen. This is the list i came up with;

    1 Dryer
    2 Evaporator
    3. The core thingy that goes in the dash
    4. Condenser
    5. The high and low pressure pipes
    6. The switch

    Am i missing anything?

Seriously Chob, best wishes to you. Thanks for your service to our country. I have everything you need for the shipping cost only. Only thing is I cant be sure it works. I removed it from a non running 88 carby. But the price is right. Prolly be best to ship to your NEW addy huh?Let me know when you get settled in.

Hey i appreciate it a lot, your offer and your thanks as well.

Easy enough for you to say suck it up its not hot in Wisconsin I am actually pretty tired of deserts.... Ill be here for 3 years though...Recruiting duty. Its going to be nice to be away from a military installation for a while but the work sucks.

Ill owe you one. If you see something down in my area that interests you lmk

The best way to beat the heat is a trailer with a ATV on it !

If you can get almost every thing used, do it! We can help
with what little wiring and stuff you will still need. Down there
use hybrid freon, it works better in the heat.

I lived in Albuquerque for a year, you don't need A/C, if there is shade, it's cool.

... There really is no intelligence in the military, but i will get to that in a minute.

I am still going to the southwest but today its going to be more the El Paso area. Everything can change in 2.2 seconds, i wouldn't be surprised if i was going to Maine next Wednesday.

Now to the lack of intelligence part. Because the Brigade is stationed in Phoenix, I have to drive to Phoenix to check in with my new unit then drive all the way back to El Paso, As you can tell from my signature I am from TN, Phoenix is not exactly on the way to El Paso. If it wasn't for my Festiva, and free vacation time i might be pissed off. Gotta love them MPG's!

It seems to me that it would have been easier to put the Main HQ in a more centralized location...

                      Im done. For now

If there's anything else you need for ac lmk.. I stripped it all from my car back to the firewall and the stuff is laying around in my way. My compressor clicks but it was working in my car, I referred to it as a Ticking timebomb, never know when it'll blow the whole car up! (Not really..)

                          Hybrid R12..

Most any parts store should have " alternative R12 "
Some are better than others, I order my 50 lb'ers
from back east some where. I can PM the brand but
look into what you have in the parts store. The cost
and performance are worth the effort. Not sayin 134
is bad, I sell a lot of it and conversions, the hybrid
just works better in small systems especially.

Freeze 12 used to be something you could purchase without a license, dunno if that's still true.

Beware of hybrid r12's most are a propane or butane concoction and have been known to cause vehicle fires.
