  • Water Pump Quality--different manufacturers

I can get a new water pump for $15.

I can get rebuilt ones. Put one in Luxstiva. (Got it at A-Zone, and the first one had a hairline crack which luckily, I noticed.)

Others run over $70 new (Motorcraft).

Manufacturers are Airtex, AC/Delco, ASC, Beck/Arnley, Bosch, Cardone, Cardone Select and Motorcraft (the most expensive).

I'd put a $15 one in the Mutt.

For the future "Speedstiva," I want better.

I'm tending towards Bosch (around $45) or the Cardone Select (around $36).

Any real differences in Q/C or actual build quality and performance?

    Any to avoid?

What are your thoughts or experiences?

    just only look for NEW

    NOT REBUILT

and whoever carries the best warranty

in my case, it has always been NAPA

i will not be cheap when it comes to a job that i will not want to do again for a long, long time

and i use Honda-bond (from Honda dealers only) for my water pump gasket, so i will know it won't leak
