By the way I have discovered broken springs almost every time I take apart a Festy or Aspire. Often the springs have corroded, split and crumpled within the rubber socks and metal pockets. Can't really be seen from the outside. The mechanic could be 'bull-sitting' you but if the car makes noises upon bumps and is sitting lower than you remember he's likely covering his behind for when he tangles with the other front end stuff.
