  • It's a good day today!

After sitting in a storage yard for about 6 months, my Festiva is on a flatbed on it's way back to my house. I've got a bunch of stuff planned, including standalone engine management installation, but most importantly, rust removal and chassis strengthening at the front end in the wheel wells. I can't wait to work on it again, it's been a while!

Every car I have owned has had a turbo in it, until I bought this latest festiva.. I plan to fix that though.

What standalone system are you going to use? I've been wanting to switch to megasquirt when I get around to rebuilding my engine.

I'm using an Electromotive TEC 2 system. I used to be running the DOHC 4 cylinder MX3 engine control system along with a Greddy EManage, but this system is replacing it. The engine bay is going to look much cleaner, since the TEC system only uses a few small sensors.

As far as strengthening it, I've got to repair something in the wheel well, but I don't know what needs to be changed. I was eyeing the front sway bar/control link setup and considering what could be done with that (think heim joints) but as of right now I don't have anything written in stone.

i was thinkin of doing a full a-arm set up and then custom building a sway bar. But thats more time and money i dont really want to spend :-p
