Has anyone ever tried using a a Holley 2 barrel on the 1.3? Or do you think it would be too much carb.

Even a 350cfm Holley 2 barrel would probably be too much.
A 500 two barrel could run a small V-8.
The 350 a V-6.

A Weber DG or DF carb is ~270 CFM, and is used for up to 2.0 liter motors, and possibly more. I've had a Weber DG on 2.0l VW buses, and 1.8l Subarus. I put a 500 cfm Holley on a 2.3 pinto DD engine. I had to jet down but it ran great. A 300 cfm on a 1.3 might be a little tricky to tune for a DD. Get a Weber and call it a day.Some people like to read fiction,I prefer to read repair manuals. Weird I know-

CFM ratings of carbs can get tricky when trying to compare to other styles and brands. In general, 2 barrel carbs are rated at a different pressure differential than 4 barrel carbs (3"Hg for 2V vs. 1.5"Hg for 4V). To convert between 2V and 4V CFM ratings, you use a rough conversion factor of 1.414. This means a 2V carb rated at 500CFM would be equal in flow to a 4V carb rated at about 354CFM. That's why the old Tri-power (3X2V) set-ups of the 1960's could run a total combined 2-barrel CFM rating of 1060CFM.....................the actual equivalent of a single 750CFM 4V carb.
Also, some ratings are "dry" and some are "wet".........with the "dry" ratings being about 8% higher. In a nutshell, if you're going to accurately compare the CFM ratings of two different carbs, you need to know the pressure differential of each and whether the rating is "wet" or "dry".
I think a 350 Holley 2V would work OK on a 1.3L in a performance or racing application like a dirt track car, but would probably be too much for a street car.Brian

Yes I built a motor for demo derby last year between april and october that motor made me 20,000 dollars but that's running every weekend the specs the cam has 513 lift 280 duration doubled valve springs it has big block chevy valves solid lifters got welded cam towers it's got 12.5 to 1 compression ratio crazy port and polish esslinger intake adjustable cam gear lower end has 2.5 crank 5.7 I beam rods kieth black flat top pistons studded and strapped mains knife edged crank running undersized rings so that it will run hot full msd ignition holley 350 running 110 octane it topped rpms at 8500 I have the rev limiter set at 7000 and I've bounced it off the limiter a few times in the derby of course I'm running 456 gears with a ford 8 inch I'm sure I'm forgetting some thing I can dig up my build sheet and dyno sheets some whereJustin Craig Paola Kansas my 4 passions, demolition derby,Ford 2.3s, my festiva and my kids

Thanks for all the input.
So, I was on Weber's website and there are no less than 4 diffrent 32/36 modle carbs listed (DFEV, DGAV, DGEV, and DGV). Can anyone tell me which one works best with the 1.3? I don't mind spending a little money on a new carb. That way I know what I'm getting. Just don't want to have to purchase more than one carb. Thanks for all your help.
