  • Pretty fun night...with guest appearance by Karma

Earlier tonight, when I was about to take my girlfriend to Danelectro's Guitar Bar in Houston, we walked through my apartment parking lot and saw a zx2 with it's lights on.
"Somebody's gonna have a dead battery in the morning.", I said with a chuckle.
    "Indeed...", responded my gf.
As we proceeded to my car and got in, I inserted the keys and.........and.............aaaaaand.............

Well, my car would not even crank. Just a light "click". Hmmm.... Lights and all appliances are working fine, but not engine grunt.....Battery? Cables? Starter?

After relocating myself to the front of the car, I opened the hood and, right on cue, came the downpour. After wiggling the battery cables around a bit and returning inside, eventually it fired up. Never had such an inconvenience, albeit simple, with this car.
Afterward, we continued our night listening to live blues at the bar.
    Karma is a playful mistress.

your car would have started if you had found the owner of zx2 and told him about his lights.

Or seen if it was unlocked and turned them off? I would've at least checked, but some people have a fear of getting caught doing a good deed.

Nice guitars and nice place. I currently have an epi Les Paul special that I got for about $300 below the price tag due to a big ugly black mark on the back. Nothing a little WD-40 couldn't fix.
Nice place. Has old generic Japanese and Sears-tier guitars from the 60s-80s hanging all across the walls.

And getnpsi speaks the truth lol.
I used to do that when I lived in Conroe, TX and Arkansas for a while, because nobody wants a dead battery in the morning. Can't do that in downtown Houston

Actually no BigElCat, that's me in my normal attire lol. I took that a couple months ago at my place with my laptop and people kept bringing up the Ramones when they saw it, so I made it look vintage black and white as a joke.

I would kill for a BP. When my Escort GT was totaled, I really had to tear myself away from the idea of ripping out that 101,000 mile BP for later use. But sadly, I had to leave the car intact to receive the $1,700 from the insurance company and I needed wheels fast. At least I can hope that she was rebuilt and sold with a salvage title, given the low miles. The damage wasn't really that devastating lol. Oh well, I'm still keeping an eye out, but Trixie has really low miles so I'm not really in a rush. Once my relatively new tires wear down, I plan to Aspire swap it.

I love that guitar. I like it a lot more than that expensive Ibanez RG4EX quilt top I got on a splurge buy, which has been sold. Floyd Rose systems are really annoying to live with imo

Both sides of my family are from texas, dads side is from houston. Everyone has guns. If you don't have a gun it's because you probably used it inappropriate... like clocking someone 3 * in the back of the head instead of once heh. Whole different world out there. My grandfather is in his 90s and still plays and attended bluegrass stuff at icehouse

Haha I left the gun my late grandpa gave me in Arkansas with my folks, due to a "no guns" policy in student housing....pah, didn't stop my old roommate from bringing his 7.62X54mm WWII rifle. From Russia with love indeed lol.
Can't say I've been to Icehouse. Is it off Alabama St. heading into downtown?

Its gonna be one at least 30 years old. A lot of bars cash in on icehouse themes for good reason. Ill have to ask my aunt what its name is/was. Their house is across the street from spring branch high and I know it wasnt walking distance by any means so it could be downtown the airport anywhere...

I got a cherryburst Epi Les Paul on CL for $75. Jack plate was missing. Plays fine.
