  • What do you like about the Festiva?

I was poking around and I saw the what have you done with your Festiva today? thread and wondered why not have one that talks about why you love your Festiva.

    As for me:

The exterior design. So sleek yet '80s!!!!!

I like the " You drive a Festiva!?"

The fact that 13" wheels are considered an "upgrade"

Oh, and I just think they're cool.

I drove the wife's Focus for a couple of days last week, she insisted. It made me appreciate how well you can see out of a Festiva, no blind spots. Just one of the many positives.

For my job at Advance, whenever I have to deliver stuff I drive either a Ranger or one of the new Sonics. The Sonic is nice, but has horrendous blind spots! For this reason, I drive the Ranger whenever I get the chance.

Everything! Seriously though... design simplicity, fuel mileage even after an engine swap, pacing a charger srt8 in a refrigerator box, getting looks or comments when more than one is in the same place, and the list goes on. I wish I could hear what people think when my little rust bucket launches faster than most everybody else at a stoplight.

What made the old beetles popular? you could mod them for racing, offroad, buggy,
towing or towed; or just enjoy a fairly dependable car that was NOT a major part of the household budget. They had a following of people who enjoyed each other and helped each other.

Out of all the above I haven't raced it.
I have owned many Vw Bajas and now I have a Festy Baja.

Beetles and festies take to any kind of paint schemes..

Try any of this with a Prius, a dodge caravan, or a corvette.

                          Umm,
the fact that evreything on the festiva can be replaced or rebuilt by anyone with a little know-how and basic tools,
                          FESTIVAS ARE FUN,
and ulitmately the look on the v8 drivers face when they get taken by a 20 year old car thats 10% the price and 25% the displacement...!
