Oh yeah, and I forgot about the Tracker lol
About 6 inches makes a festy sit like those little SUV's do but
    its not easy getting there.

Mitsu expo LRV , eagle summit AWD, colt vista AWD all mid 90's
are kinda like that. Mercedes m320 are there. Maybe not so good
on gas. Honda civic wagon AWD is taller than any subby but in range
for a short person, if the client does not factor in much these get really
good MPG's for a AWD car.

      Two other ideas:

Toyota Echo should be higher off the ground than a Festiva, but not as much as her current ride.

How about a 4 cylinder Ford Ranger? Maybe with an extended cab. Tall enough, I think. Better gas mileage than the Dodge. Not too expensive. Should be pretty reliable.

4 door tracker/sidekick would be a great option I think. They are decently comfortable and sit high enough so should be easy to get in and out of. That was one we were looking at before buying the Focus, just didn't find one in our price range quick enough lol.
        No festiva for me ATM...

^^ You're talking about the older ones right? Not last few body styles from the late 90s and up? Those aren't that small and drink a good bit of gas.

I was looking at Trackers, and she thinks they're really nifty. If my stepdad doesn't talk her out of it, maybe...he thinks Geos are deathtraps lol

Also, I told her to avoid almost all German cars as they (in my experience) are often hard to keep running unless you have money to throw at it.

The Echo would be a great choice lol. I totally forgot about that one. And I suggested a Ranger like my old one. I good gas mileage in mine with a 2.3L four/auto/single cab.

Unfortunately, all the ones mentioned are barely on the Little Rock Craigslist and ebay around their area...
              That said, all excellent choices

My dad, who's 90, has a 2006 Chevy Malibu Maxx. Hatchback, big doors, adjustable pedals. Loves it!

Well, luckily my stepdad and I talked her out of the Daewoo she was looking at. She claims it got great mileage, which I'm sure it does. But Daewoos weren't big sellers and have pulled from the car market, and parts would be very, very hard to find. Plus, I haven't heard many great things about them, to put it mildly.
