If it's the 1.9 CVH then no it won't fit. I have loaded 1.6 DOHC engines into the back of a Festiva before, they do fit. 175 sounds way high for me, if it is "damaged" like he says if you look on www.car-part.com you will see good used BP's listed fairly regularly for $150

The ad says the motor was from a 91' so it "should" be a BP and I've broke a timing belt on a BP and didn't hurt the valves at all, put on a new and was good to go

The fact that he says it's 91 AND notes that it's a Mazda engine makes me think it's probably a BP. Do a quick google search for BP motors, then one for cvh motors. After looking at a couple pics of each you will be able tell pretty easily which one it is when you seeit. for what it's worth I bet the valves are fine, my guess is they just didn't ow how to get the new timing belt lined up right.
            No festiva for me ATM...

I just purcesed it, it is indeed a BP. When he pulled it out he said it wasnt running, and it was cuz of the timing belt, however i believe it may of been as htchbck said with the belt. I will be starting my own build thread and see where things go.

Just modify the stock harness for the BP, it's easy to do if you have a 90-93 festiva
