On the stock clutch. I have an Exedy (heavy duty stock replacement) clutch in my car and it took everything my B3 could throw at it. I recently swapped to a B8ME (single cam, 16 valve 1.8 liter) and it just blows the clutch away in 2nd through 4th if I get on it.

It's fine if you drive normally and don't speed shift.

Get you a Festiva first and get it running right.
Read through the site and get your plans made for what you want your car to be or do. Festivas are just great little cars. I'd plan on doing the basic things first. Suspension and brakes should be a priority.

About how much room you have, I am more comfortable in my Festiva, than any other small (heck even medium) sized car.

I am 6'6" 314lbs, and I am fine.

I'll put in my two cents, 'cause I got here first. There have been claims of getting better than stock MPG's on boosted B3s. I think I saw 50 MPG posted. A lot of it seems to be about the transmission you use, since going to the G series trans seems to cut your fuel mileage by around 10 MPG's, whether you're boosted or not. I say this, because Father PU241 says his BP (non-turbo) with the stock trans still gets in the 40's. There is a way to fix this, by taking the 5th gear from a 626, I believe, and swapping it in. Drops your RPM's from undesirable to almost comfortable. The B6T/G series gets 32-35, unless you get 'trigger happy,' and then it sits around 29MPG's. Again, this isn't 100%, but I'm sure that I'll be corrected eventually.

Ive never messed with that detailed of transmission stuff. I might send my trans to a member and have that done for me as I hear once messed up, its the point of no return for a trans.

To answer your question, mostly depends on how heavy your foot is. And somehow your foot gets heavier if you have a turbo or bigger NA motor. My B3 would get 52+MPG @ 60 MPH, but my B6 can only manage 42 at that speed. But with the B6 came larger/heavier tires & wheels, so it's not a perfect comparison.

With my turbo 2nd gen B6 sohc, with my winter wheels (13") instead of my summer (large 15") crusing on the interstate I averaged mid 30s. With the summer hight 20s. I tend to have a heavy foot with the boost, its really easy to. My city mileage can be a little sad, but I have tried to save gas and got in the upper 30s intown. Keep in mind, that with a modified engine, not stock trans, and a not factory turbo set up. Good luck, and welcome to the forum.

Welcome to the forum, and pay no attention to windy, this forum is more than a forum, it is something of a home as well.

The almighty minister of Zulu, Father John, referenced above by Driver one as PU241 (forum name) reported this morning that he 9.747 gallons of gas over 415.4 miles returning from 4thstiva. 42.618 MPG on that BP NA. He said before leaving that he planned on doing 60MPH the whole way.
