Timing Belt ( For Information Purposes )

....Went to change my timing belt and found that the NEW belt was narrower (newer belt is 18 MM, older belt is 21 MM ). Doesn’t sound like much but when you compare them the new belt looks very skinny. If installed on the cam shaft pulley, it looks like it’s got a LOT of room around it. Called Beck / Arnley ( bought through Rock Auto ) they are investigating it, they gave me the width specs on it. Their first thoughts were it had been missed boxed. Waiting to hear what they have to say.

Reduced rotational mass? Lol. Maybe a negligible increase in flat acceleration.
