  • Is carbed Festiva ?

Does a carbureted Festiva have an electronic feedback carb and O2 sensor? Does anyone have a pic of one and one of an engine with one?
I'm currently considering a Festiva that is carbed and want to learn more about it before I go look at it (it's out of state). Thanks for the help.

if you want to know about the reliability issues with the carb'd festys

just look through the repair help forum and check everyone's posts

besides it having a carb, everything is pretty much the same through the rest of the years (body, brakes, suspension........etc...)

I was hoping to find out if the carb is an electronic feedback type setup that uses input from an O2 sensor to make corrections to the fuel mixture to improve economy and emissions. Or is it just a plain old carburetor? Is it a one barrel or two? I don't currently have one to look at, there's seems to be plenty of EFI Festiva pics to look at. I have two turbocharged four cylinder Ford EFI cars, so I am quite familiar with EFI (along with 3 other vehicles that are EFI). I haven't fooled with a carburetor in awhile (or points for that matter) and just wanted to find out more about the Festiva's setup.

It is a 2 barrel, and I am almost positive they have an O2 sensor. People have succesfully rebuilt a festiva carb here on the forum, but some have had a little trouble finding the rebuild kit. Luckily the previous owner had my carb rebuilt a year or 2 ago. So I figure its good for another 5 years or so.
