  • Speedometer check...

Just replaced my speed sensor with one out of a '96 Aspire. I'm running 155 65r 13 tires.

    Within 1MPH!
    84.5MPH

    TomTom says 83MPH

Glad to see someone cares about knowing how fast they're going. 85 proves the tires are OK or the picture would have been blurry with all the shaking. Did you perchance count the Festy teeth VS Aspire teeth on the speedo gear before doing the switch?

Of course it is... I was actually going to start a topic on this. It's clear down. It works great when it's up. No drag or anything when its down. The light is always on though.

What fluid level? That light is for the E-brake... There isn't any fluid involved in the ebrake... Am I missing something?

Brake light on the dash also goes on when fluid is too low in the master cylinder.

Your windshield washer fluid level because it has everything to do with a "brake" light..........

Really? That might TOTALLY make sense... The car did have 3 larger bottles of brake fluid in the hatch when I bought it.

Fluid leak can cause it, yes, and that will make for very poor braking, so you shouldn't do 85 if that is the case.

The fluid goes down as the pads wear, as well. Combine old shoes with worn pads, and the fluid will be low enough to set the light.

Dont they use the same gear, but different final drive? And I thought way they corrected the difference was via the tire diameter?

                              1. Thanks for the call on the brake fluid, it is definitely low, and will be full when I get home today.

                              2. I was wondering the same thing, it's almost PERFECTLY spot on, but I'm now running 155 65r 13's... Maybe I just lucked out, and the one from the aspire worked perfect?!
