  • ISUZU I-MARK RS

Looking around for a used car (Daughter turns 16 soon) Saw an ad on CL 1989 I-Mark RS, 74k, all service records and looks really well taken care of. Did some research, seems pretty reliable/well built/economical. The rarity of this model is a little worrisome (parts) What's the good, bad and ugly on this car? Price is 3k.

For a 16 year old daughter? No way.

Get a way more common car for that 3 grand. Like an escort or focus or cavalier or something.

That car is a good collector car, but like Brad said, not first car material. Get her a car that is the most common car in salvage yards in your area, so if she whacks things with it you can just go get panels that are already painted. Stay away from anything that chrysler has made in the last 2 decades. There is a reason why they fill junk yards, they have frequent and expensive electrical problems from my experience. Honda, Toyota, Mazda, Nissan and Ford econo sedans seem to make great first cars. Also, Geo trackers if you live in a snow area. Can't kill 'em and they go anywhere, not fast, but that's a good thing with young drivers.
Driving for me is neither a right nor a privilege. Driving is my passion, as it was for the people who invented the automobile, the people who paved the first roads and the people who continue to improve the automobile. Please respect this passion.
