Rocketman, I have the piece of dash for you. I will take a dial level to give you the correct angle for level, so that the the drink will not spill while standing still, on level ground, without a lid. I also want to check how much space there is between it and the cubby. Sometimes sacrifices have to be made for the sake of science.
Excellent. PM me when you are ready. I am thinking I may have to adapt your design to the Capri as well, as there's no real good options for us at the moment. The double DIN inserts are the best we've got, and they don't work particularly well on the manual cars
I tried the ashtray approach, but I couldn't get it to work + I prefer man sized gulps. bottles and cups. I already PM'd rocketman. My main concern with a swinging Mini Cooper drink holder, is clearing the glovebox with the bracket.
The pivotting Mini Cooper cup holder is nice because it holds the Big Gulps and Slurpees and still swings out of the way from in front of the radio.
Unfortunately, it's too pricey.
How in the heck does this Mini-Cooper cupholder work? hmmmmmm
Looks like the flat curved piece screws into the ashtray and then the cup holder has a post on the bottom that fits into one of the 2 holes in the curved piece?
Anyone know if it will fit into a Festiva ashtray?

Twist, it mounts to the side and not in the ashtray.
It pivots. The Festiva dash tilts back the same amount.
The Big Gulp/Slurpee remains level.
I will take it apart and photograph the pieces for you after i find it.
How about an iPad mount for a Festiva ashtray?
It would keep the passengers distracted.

Scitzz, that looks like a flower pot holder! I like it!
Just ripped the top half off a twenty five cent cup holder and used copper wire :p
