What do you think about the new 1.2L Spark?

The specs are almost the same as a Festiva (even the size of the gas tank), except for the height because of the big wheels:
    Wheelbase 93.50 in
    Length, Overall 144.70 in
Width, Max w/o mirrors 62.90 in
    Height, Overall 61.00 in

    It was designed in Korea.

It's 82hp, good looking, and actually with the seat folded down has 4' more cargo room, though it's only 4.1 inches longer than the Festiva... SERIOUSLY considering owning one of these.

If I'm going to drive a tiny car I better get great mpg's or be quick. The EPA mpgs on the spark are 32 city 38 highway. Ok not bad but I might as well get a Mazda 2 or Fiesta: more space, more hp, and the same mpgs.

2300lbs with only 82 HP and only modest MPG figures?

Nah. Like was already said, Mazda 2 or my personal choice, the new Kia Rio 5.

No matter what you're out of pocket a lifetime's worth of fuel for a Festy, and the darn new car will have little residual value in 10 years. Good bye $15 Grand.
Of course you have to live in a rust-free area to capitalize on this because 30 year old Festys don't or won't exist up here by then.

                      Let's compare apples to apples...
-Fiat $500: Base model is $16k. "Italian design" built in Toluca Mexico, or Poland. with bells and whistles closer to $24k
-Scion iq: Starts at $16k+ again with bells and whistles it's $23+. Many only have a 1.0l engine
-Smart 4two: $13k-18k (probably the best deal) Tiny, built in Mexico.

None of these stand out in ANY way as being better than the Spark.

I was so excited for the Mazda 2/Fiesta, but they missed the mark, and made JUST ANOTHER SMALL CAR. Not a micro like the Festiva was.

                        ^ Rio 5
                        1.6L 138hp 123lb/f

                        2400lbs

                        6 speed MTX

Skip the bells and whistles and order a base with the 6spd manual for $14,550.

Or, just build a Festy with even nicer (by miles) specs and spend WAY less. Hmm.
Any difference that makes no difference is no difference.

I agree. In fact, I like it in red with a set of 17" Motegi MR116's.

I would love to test drive one. Stock as a rock, and turbo the stock engine. Can you imagine a wide intercooler behind that grille?

The Rio5 is 19" Longer than a Festiva, and 15" longer than a spark. Not a micro in my book.
