  • Escort Seats?

I'm going to pick up an escort center console from a jy tomorrow, and just thought of getting the seats if they are in good condition. How much fabrication is needed to replace stock Festiva seats with escort seats?

EDIT: I just noticed that "Festiva" is underlined in red while typing, indicating that the word is spelled wrong. I think I just lost some respect for the website

Totally unacceptable! Right click and and to dictionary. I did.

There are some good write ups on here for swapping escort seat in various ways. Good upgrade though I've not done it personally. Yet.

Escorts seats suck... try finding mx3 seats.

If I'm not mistaken, any 89-94 escort, protege, mx3 seats are a direct swap.
By that I mean what you've probably already read. The "EGT Seat Swap" thread makes the procedure seem about as easy as it really is.

You won't have a problem if you have the right tools. Soak the seat parts in penetrator oil as to avoid problems; however, it's an easy upgrade. I used LX seats with the head rests and vinyl back. Many different seats to choose from in my yards.

At $17.99 (USD 2012 inflation) per seat, it's about the same price as a seat cover, but you're getting FOAM. Post pictures! Wish I had a before pic.

nope....there is no DIRECT swap....and actually...out of all of them probably the easiest is mattswab's prelude seat swap. Elongate one hole and add one bolt on piece of bar stock.

sorry, youre right. this is the procedure I used to get new seat pads. it's not a direct swap, but takes about 30 minutes of interchanging parts per seat. I reused the seat rails.

edit: mmmm. i'll have to look into prelude seats. thanks!

I can swap seat bases in about 20 minutes. Cut all the hog rings, and re-install with zippy ties.

Mine are from a 96 escort wagon lx. I looked for the ones that matched my backseat/door cards best. Finding tan can be hard tho.
