  • Just got my Festiva....

So I just got my 93 Festiva L a few days ago (190K miles). To get it to pass inspection I had to replace the driver side CV Shaft and output seal and the master cylinder. I have looked it over pretty well, and it seems just fine now.

What are the known issues that I should investigate/just fix/replace?

I have seen many threads about modifying the suspension, what is the best way to better the suspension without lowering the car? Maybe even raise it, I live in a flood zone.

The fusible links under the hood on the drivers side strut tower are garbage, replace those with cartridge style fuses and it won't leave you stranded lol

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

I was just looking at that mess over there. Is there a recommended way to relocate the coil, fusible links, and that other crap?

        First thing I would do:

Lower control arms, outer tie rod ends, rear wheel bearings... All pretty easy, and relatively cheap to fix! Welcome to the forum!

I was looking at all those parts, the bushings are crap, outer tie rod end is a bit loose, outer wheel bearings are new and that control arm is made of tinker toys or maybe a Popsicle stick. Should I go stock or upgrade to... Hyundai parts I think it was?

Ewww! No hyundai parts. I've just done everything listed with stuff from Autozone. The Tie rod ends are life time warranty for $15.99. The LCA's are made by Dorman in Tennessee and are lifetime warranty for $27.99 each. Seem to be pretty good quality to me.

So yea... Can somebody tell me about this bypass hose? I searched for it and found info on it going bad, and something about an escort, but no real info.

Can I get a link? (or just a photo with an arrow on it)

Another question... I gotta pull off the valve cover because the gasket is all dry rotted, no biggie there. Is there anything I should do while I have it open?
