  • aspire brake swap.. is it worth it?

Ok so after my first autox with the fast festiva i relize now that brakes = need improvement. Is the aspire front brake swap REALLY worth it? what exactly is difference about the aspire brakes?? is there any real performance / race brake kit available? I know evogun has the wilwood brakes which i would love to get but i thought he had to do a full custom kit.

    HELP

Every car I have owned has had a turbo in it, until I bought this latest festiva.. I plan to fix that though.

Don't waste your time or money on the festiva bakes. DO THE ASPIRE SWAP. I have the stock festiva brakes on my daily driver and they are in very new shape and work nice but in no way compare to the aspire brakes on the BP and BPT car. 1st off they are thicker vented rotors and they are in larger diameter. The drums are bigger. On my BP car I'm still using the pads and rotors from the junk yard and I bet I can out stop just about anyone on the road.

Just think of the performance jump from the b3 to your car now. Once broken in the aspire swap is a similar jump in performance for the brakes.

I went from a stock festiva to full aspire swap, shocks/springs, and r compound tires and it feels like a completely different car. Turn-in is amazing, there is a little initial understeer, then the rear end hooks and whips you around. I went from spinning/sliding the tires all the way around the autox to not being able to break traction at any time but launch.

The front brakes I'm not too sure about. I still might not have mine bled correctly, but it feels like there is too much travel. The pedal bottoms out before the tires lock.

Then again, that is on r-compound tires, and by this point your eyeballs are about to come out from the braking.
