Well, I just woke up from a nap. First time I've slept in my own bed in over two weeks. I've slept in the back of my Festiva, in hotel rooms and at friends houses. It was a great experience. Upon waking up I thought to myself. I should probably post a thread on this. So here it is. Didn't get nearly the amount of photos that I had planned and didn't take much video, but I'll try to post up what I got. I definitely encourage anyone to go from coast to coast in a car they built for themselves, as it's very rewarding.

Fixed it real quick and Pm'd you instead of posting my excuses. haha.
I was trying to post a map of my trip, but it was unsuccessful. I can preview this stuff on my PC, but with my MacBook I have to post it to see if it'll work. Not a mac fan, but trying.

Kelsey did a good job and it only took us like 5 minutes to get it out. Some guys in a dune buggy stopped and helped push too. The worst part was that there were signs everywhere that read, "no stopping for any reason". I had a good reason, but this no tolerance thing had me worried.

Yeah, I have some saddle sores, but a bike does tend to chafe more. They sell powder for that now (besides gold bond). Monkey butt. I probably should have used some.

That was the very first lesson I learned in my new Jeep CJ-7. I took it for a spin in the mud. I stopped in the middle of a red clay plowed field in the spring. I sunk it until the mud almost poured in the doors. I had to go and get a shovel plus hip waders to dig out from around all four wheels, just to get it rolling. I had a V-8 in my CJ. You should have seen the mud fly twenty feet in the air from all four wheels as I got it rolling again. I never stopped again in anything soft after that.

                              They taxed buttocks back then?

I think the only car I ever got stuck in mud was my Chevette. I did manage to do a muddy track behind the Penney's Outlet Store and kept that little engine revving like mad and slinging mud all over the place. Didn't get stuck there. Got stuck above Yorktown Jr. High on a simpler muddy area with my Mom! Had to have a tow truck get me out.

Charlie, I don't know if I'll bother to go coast to coast, but I do want to go West some day.
