I just got a 92 GL Sport in april by accident. The members on this site told me it was a "sport" model. I just thought it was a GL with some extra options. I was under the impression that the "sport" was a 1992 only model but someone here said they have a 93. Does anyone know for sure about that?By the way, mine has no a/c
I bought a festiva off of e-bay, gave $710.00 for it, was told only needs minor engine repair. After I made it back home and started reading this site more to see about the repairs i was looking at I realized I had bought a '92 GL Sport. It has the custom interior, the rear high spoiler, the alloy wheels and guess what??? It even has factory A/C. Since I have started doing the minor repair work needed I have completely rebuilt the engine, new control arms with ball joints, inner and outer tie rods with new boots, rotors and hub bearings with grease seals, brake pads, new fly wheel with pilot shaft bearing, release bearing, clutch, pressure plate, rear brake shoes and drums, and four new tires. Oh yeah the little pine tree air freshener that hangs on the rear view mirror. Basically I can call my SPORTY a brand new '92...
The engine had to bored 20 over, the head was good only needed new valve spring retainers 2 were cracked, new oil pump, water pump, timing belt dust cover. Not to bad for only needing minor repairs... The funnest thing about it was the rocker arm assembly was put together upside down and the exhaust HLA's had never had any oil to them, Oil hole was pointing up  !!!!
Lifes journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid sideways totally worn out, shouting...holy sh!t FESTIVA!!!!!!!
the way i do it that i gave my phone number to tow truck drivers that haul away junk cars and told the i will give them more for it than the junkyard will like a $100.00 or more and it depends on the condition.
