Festiva vs. Aspire transmission

I would imagine an Aspire tranny hooked to a Festy speedo, after an Aspire brake/wheel/suspension swap, would read more accurate. The speedo cable sending unit in a manual Aspire is (so they tell me) the same as manual and auto Festy but the worm gear or toothwheel inside the tranny must have a different count. I have yet to tangle with a manual Aspire; the two I bought for swap purposes were autos specifically because the rotors are thicker and the calipers spaced further apart.

final drive ratios are different between the festy and aspire trans, all other gears are the same. festy final is taller (lower number) and aspire final is shorter (higher number).

I swap every car I can to the aspire trans ! But hill climbing is a car killer around here . I can say I don't notice the rpm change much but the pulling power is def better . Fuel miles is the same with no change there . But for a highway or interstate car I'd stay festy five speed .
If your not going to run 65 plus and don't wanna make a front mount I would look for a four speed festy trans they are the same final drive and promote the same results minuse the high gear ! Good luck !!!

I believe your engine will rev slightly higher with the aspire trans

Festiva vs. Aspire transmission
What would be the result of using the Aspire transmission instead of the stock Festiva? I know the gear ratios are a little different. Will engine revs for a given speed be higher or lower with the Aspire gearbox compared to the Festiva one?
