  • time to reupholstr seats

Does anyone know where to get ready made seat covers. I am not talking about the cheap covers that tie in place. But a kit that will replace the upholstry and possably the foam also.

    thanks

One option would be to get the Leather seat covers from Junspeed! They are two peice, and actually made for our cars. The top piece slides over top of the upper seat, and the seat bottem is quite snug and ties in place.

If that doesn't tickle your fancy someone else might know more.

Have you ever considered just changing the entire seats?
I put in some leather seats from another car and will never ever go back to fabric.
You only have to fabricate some mounts.

Red stitched black leather Tiburon seats that I bought on eBay.

Here is my favorite pic after I replaced the worn out shifter bushings. Note the clearance between the shifter (in gear) and the leather seats.

Why would you not consider going back to fabric?

Personally, I love the fact that leather doesn't get dirty, or if it does, it's so easy to clean/wipe off but I don't think I'd like how freaking cold leather seats would be in the winter.

Now, if we could get HEATED leather seats in our Festys!.....

Sorry, I don't drive my Festiva in the winter. I have even bypassed my heater. In that case, yes, fabric is best. Besides leather and vinyl will split and crack if you throw yourself down on them at -20.

VW Beetle Turbo S seats are heated leather.

I love leather for the cleanliness and how you can slide in and out of the car. I hate how fabric clings to jeans and whatnot. But I agree with replacing seats! I went with a Escort GT swap. My friend did eclipse swap.

I had my front seats for Blue Lightning recovered at a local shop. I'm very plaesed with their work and price.

The Volkswagen seat is very nice, except there are none on eBay at the moment.

The 2013 Beetle L also has V-Tex leatherette seating surfaces with heated front seats.

I dunno where you guys live but I put 'woolies' (long underwear) on when the snow starts to fly. Some of the newer polypropylene (wicks moisture away from the body) hi-tech stuff is really impressive and I am in no hurry to fuss around with heated seats or any other kind of gimic. Now I did have OEM vinyl seats in a pickup truck (still have the pickup but not those seats) at one time (25 years ago) and that did define to me what was as low as you could go for comfort when it was -30.
