  • Working in North Dakota

Drove 9 hours through a blizzard cuz the interstate was closed and had my tools shipped up on a cross country truck. This is what I saw when I unboxed the crate. It was still strapped down tight. Roads must have been rough.image.jpg

    That sucks.

Hopefully none of your tools are missing, if you know what I mean.....

Glad YOU made it safe. Sounds like quite the perilous journey.

I'm in Williston. It sucks. Walmart is like black friday 7 days a week, no Home Depot, Lowes or Menards. Very few fast food joints, Traffic sucks, especially the turn to Watford, Everything is $$$. Right now gas is 3.50-3.70/gal depending on where you stop and diesel is 4.09-4.39. Housing is nearly non existant unless you do a man camp. Oh and the roads suck!

I know exactly what you mean about Williston! I worked there this summer doing road construction for Knife River. Walmart is crazy there, and applebees is probably the best sit down restaurant in town!

Nope, just have lived up here for the last 12+ years, just like the location in my profile says. I worked in Tioga all summer. Williston is horrible town to go to due to the large number of out-of-staters, oil traffic, and oil driven prices. The population grew faster than the infrastructure could handle. They are slowing catching back up and prices have started to fall, but there are still considerably higher than average.

It was a joke, i was in watford area for 7 months and comming back in march again with my truck to run side dump, williston is a nightmare. I go to dickenson for groceries and parts bc its a zoo up north. I was paying 1500$ a month for a 20x20 ft cabin lol
