  • what yave you hauled with your festiva?

I have a 1983 280zx shell I purchased. Came with two turbo engines and some spares. I was wondering if the Festiva could handle it. Its about a 300 mi trip. One big pass to go over and some mild hills.

i picked up a complete long block 351w ford v8. I drove like 4 hours to pick it up in the middle of no where. I got to the guys house and he told me to back up to the garage so we can load it with the cherry picker. When he opened the garage to see the festiva he said no way! im like its no biggie it will fit, folded the seats down, put a tire in it for the motor to sit on, cherry picker barely cleared to get the engine in. The guy was laughing like crazy and called his friends to come and see what we fit in there. it was almost bottomed out on the 12in rims. It rode fine, slow on take off and it would bottom out on bumps. Made it home and averaged like 35 mpg! lol

Towed a trailer from South Dakota to North Carolina and back with 2 Capri hard tops, a soft top, drivers door and a bunch of random tools and such. Plus a car load of gear for a weeks vacation and me and my wife. Stock trans with b8 engine. Got avg of 30 mpg and drove 70-80 most of the trip. No issues, but it was a fresh build right before I left.

From December 15, 2012 to January 1, 2013 I took 16 festiva loads of stuff from my old house to my new house. At one point I had a full size slot machine, a table mounted sewing machine, a subwoofer box for 2X 12" speakers, my regular box with my 8" sub, a full length mirror, a folding table, and 4 folding chairs... LOL.

This is looking promising. I guess I could do two trips. One for the shell and one for the engines and stuff.
