The cheap ones may have problems, but man, how convenient! Bluetooth to the smartphone, and there is an android app called Torque for 5 bucks. Scanner=DONE! Beats the pants of my cheapodepot scanner!

I don't see much info on the descriptions, but I'm guessing those just pull codes and reset the mil? I've been hunting something similar to the USB one but heavier duty, as in ABS/Airbag diagnostics and being able to access at least some datastream items. I love my Genisys at work, being able to watch sensors/temps/relays/etc in realtime is amazing for diagnosing driveability problems, especially intermittent ones.
          No festiva for me ATM...

That is kinda why I would want an OBD2 Aspire engine in my Festy, just to have that ability to see everything that the engine is doing on my tablet mounted on the window.

Apparently, you are only limited by your software, and some hunting can find not quite full featured free ones for your laptop, and streaming live data for that droid app, Torque. From what I read, it integrates with your phone, the video from it, the gps positioning, the time, and what your stream says is happening all at once. So, you could conceivably, run a few laps with it going in the window, record, and see what was happening moment by moment in playback. I COULD be mistaken, but the very quick skim I did gave me that impression. Pulling the trigger on the BT version, and a wire to USB version for the laptop tomorrow will report when I know more!

If nothing else, being able to carry such advanced diagnostics in my pocket, and figuring out codes right in front of a customer with my phone should give an extra "wow" to selling my work
